Bible
From SkepticWiki
[edit] Definition
The word Bible comes from a Greek root that simply means "book". Loosely, it can refer to any book deemed by its adherents to contain especially valuable knowledge.
When discussing the Bible, on the other hand, one nearly always means the Old Testament of Judaism and Christianity, and the New Testament of Christianity, taken collectively; believing Jews, however, use the term to refer to the Hebrew Canon exclusively.
