Herodotus

Herodotus of Halicarnassus was a Greek historian who lived in the 5th century BC. He is known, alternatively, as the "Father of History" or the "Father of Lies", the latter title alluding to the liberties he seems to have taken with facts.

One prominent example of his rather questionable historical accuracy are his writing on the Amazons.
